Look, Weezer gets a pass for life from me for making two great albums and an albums worth of great B-sides. If we can all ignore the bad parts of the catalogs of the Kinks, the Who, the Rolling Stones, Lennon and McCartney's post-Beatles works, *insert sacred rock band here, then we can all turn a blind eye to the past ten years of Weezer right? I don't have to consciously make sure I'm not dressing like them and/or go into greater detail when a stranger casually brings them into conversation do I? I can just say "they're good alright" and take my food to my car.
