review: THA BRACELETS: THE DEMO ALBUM

first of all, look at the cover of this weeks people magazine:

Thats right, little Stephanie Tanner went from METH ADDICT to MOM. I've seen this a couple of times in stores this week and every I think "wait, it doesn't say she's not a meth addict anymore...just a mom now" Hopefully there aren't any Full House methbabies running around.

Anway, it seems fitting that one of my favorite Denton bands ever who took their name from Stephanie Tanner's band "The Bracelets" have put out a complete collection of all their demos. Tha Bracelets weren't around for very long but they were maybe f Denton's only authentic lofi twee band (at least that I know of.) They had a handful of demos that only their friends (real life and myspace) heard and never put them on CD to sell or give at shows.... which is a shame because they are great, Gym Nap Matt and Skipper Arnold became great songwriters and Beth's voice works great on all the songs. My personal fave is Work Like a Jerk. I can't understand what anyone is saying but it doesn't matter with that melody! There are a couple different versions of songs but they are all so different its easy to listen everything on the album and not get worn out. Anyway...if you like lofi twee, you'll love this stuff. The whole thing is available for free download here:
