Comic!-Packing Problems

Thanks to everyone who bought Albatross vinyl today and yesterday! I'm going to the post office now! I took this picture and couldn't help drawing faces on (most) everything. (I'm seeing some more faces I could have drawn, but I need to force myself out the door.)

Classic Creeps Update! New Acoustic Vid!

First, Mike posted a small picture of what the buttons and poster will look like over at the hhbtm blog. It seems there are still plenty of $20 packages left with the vinyl, poster, and button set, but only 4 packages left with the embroidered cover (w/ vinyl, poster, and button set).  So if you want to get one of those you still can but it wont last long because I've already started making them. Also, if you bought one of those embroidered covers and haven't heard from or responded me or Mike asking for a picture reference please send me one ASAP.

If this is your first time to the site and have no idea what I'm talking about, click our new album cover below:

The release show is three weeks away! This is going to be an extremely fun show with three of my favorite local bands: Spooky Folk, New Science Projects and Alphabet. Mark the date! April 23rd at Rubber Gloves!

Finally, I will leave you with this video from an acoustic session I did during 35 Conferette for Radio UTD. They wrote a nice piece on our whole experience over on their blog too!

P.S. thanks to everyone who ordered the Albatross vinyl yesterday! I'll be sending these out soon!http://classiccreeps.com

Albatross Vinyl For Sale! and new SHIRTS!

Well, I stayed up really late but I finally got the albatross vinyl up for sale. check it out here
With every purchase of the vinyl (and now digital) you will receive the following digital bonus tracks:
  • Audio from the 2007 Albatross CD release show; We played the entire album and more while being yelled at by an obnoxious fan. (this is a pretty rough recording, but dont worry there's more!)
  • Audio from an hour plus radio performance we gave in 2007 on tour in California featuring some pretty hilarious and awkward banter. We played the whole album here as well and the audio is a little better (and gets better toward the end)
  • Six demos! (tracks 4-9 on the album) Pretty much the only listenable demos I could find.
Overall, this is somewhere around two hours worth of bonus Albatross content! But best of all is the vinyl record which really is beautiful. Many many thanks go out to Arnaud and his new Fishstick Records imprint for helping put this thing out.

I decided to sell it on bandcamp (and move my whole store there) as opposed to my site so that you can instantly get the digital bonus stuff once you buy the vinyl instead of having to wait for me to email you a link. Also, they accept more than paypal which is nice. It still has a couple of kinks but please let me know if you have any problems and we will work something out.

Also:  NEW SHIRTS! We have two new shirt designs in that I'm super proud of check it out!

You can get them over at our  shirt page and at upcoming shows!

I'm gonna go to sleep, see you guys soon!http://yofishboy.bandcamp.com/album/shirts

Comic!-Track by Track

Paul Slavens does a great local radio show that has a segment where he will get local artists to talk about each song on their record. I recorded one Wednesday that will go up soonish. Check out the other episodes here!

Exclusive New Song on Vinyl Compilation! (plus origin comic)

I drew a comic about transforming the soundtrack to a Dunkin Donuts video contest entry into a Christmas song about a child name Duncan over HERE back in December.  The song has finally surfaced and it's on this awesome comp along side Japanther, Andrew Jackson Jihad, and several other great bands that I now know about. You can buy it (on limited edition color vinyl!!) and stream it at the Lauren Records website.

Comic!-Fishboy's Guide to Denton

Sean from the excellent blog Buzzgrinder has been giving different bands questionnaires about their music scenes and in general what makes their town awesome.  Great idea right? I loved it so much I decided to draw a super long comic answering all his questions. The only problem was it was taking me forever to get to because of prepping all the art work for Classic Creeps. But after months of putting it off (and cutting out a couple of hard to draw questions) I forced myself to finish before 35 Conferette rolled around this weekend.

You should go! We are playing Friday at Dan's! and don't forget the warm up show tonight!

Tonight in Denton!

This is a simi-release show for Albatross that is now on vinyl.  I say "semi" because there wont be balloons or streamers, just a nice acoustic warm up for the madness that is about to descend upon Texas.

Also, you might be asking "why did you take a picture of your rabbit in a baby doll bed?" We are trying to sell the baby bed on Etsy and trick people into seeing a cute animal and fork over all their baby doll bed savings. Now that it's famous for being in an amazing flyer it should be worth twice as much right?

Also, there is a short but fun interview with Flush the Fashion up here

Still working on getting the record (and new shirts!) up in the shop. Stay tuned.

Albatross on Vinyl! March and April Shows!

hello!

It's March in Texas which means tons of crazy shows from 35C and SXSW and everyone who is passing through for both. As a result, we are swamped with great shows in DFW and one in Austin. Which is great because it will give everyone a chance to get this:

Thats right! Albatross is at last on vinyl! It's not up in the store yet because I am in the middle of moving into a new place and still need to compile all the extras that will come with the digital download (live shows, demos, radio performances) but it will be coming soon. I'm going to do a free acoustic performance next Tuesday at Art Six as a "release show" for this beautiful record and then several shows around town the following week for the two festivals.

Check the shows page! I will elaborate on all of this more later.

Also, there are only a few (maybe five or so) slots for the deluxe embroidery portrait package of Classic Creeps. Order now or be sad later.

CLASSIC CREEPS DOT COM

The full album is up for streaming over on the right via bandcamp and now on the new CLASSICCREEPS.COM! Which features the full comic from the liner notes that tells the whole story of the record (one page per song.) It also gives some information about the pre-orders which can be bought at HHBTM.COM I'll repost them here just for fun.

this last one is going to take a lot of time and effort... and if it looks like we are getting too many orders we'll have to stop offering it....so if you want one order quick!

There is also going to be a short run of casset tapes and CDRs in the near future for those of you who prefer those formats.

Expect more show announcements, comics and more fun stuff on this blog in the next coming months.
